We are “hosting” the 10 Days of 10K’s on July 16th at the South Mountain Reservation! Our 5K course will be marked and we'll be leading the group at 6:30am. The course markers will be up until Wednesday morning so you can get out there anytime on Tuesday. If you’re coming, you’re encouraged to make a donation to MEND NJ.

10 Days of 10Ks
10 Days of 10Ks is a 100% fundraiser for MEND, a hunger relief network of 23 food pantries, plus mobile markets, plus home deliveries – all serving Essex County. MENDs focus is on bringing fresh, healthy food to its clients, in addition to shelf stable staples. The 10 Days of 10Ks are not races! They are a series of group runs hosted by different fitness organizations in Essex County, NJ. It’s a “free” event with a suggested minimum donation of $10. LOOP DESCRIPTION
We use the same 5K loop from our Squatchy Leftovers race in November and the Frosty Fat Sass in January. There are portapottys at the start/finish area. There's 289 ft of gain. The course is a great mix of mellow carriage roads (dirt or gravel wide trails) and a bit of technical singletrack. There is one large climb towards the end of the loop. This is a GREAT intro to the trails if this is your first event or you're just starting out.
BYO-EVERYTHING
Bring whatever you'll need to self-support your run/hike! You'll want to have a pair of trail running shoes (or hiking boots if you prefer), a water bottle or hydration pack and food/snacks. We don't recommend leaving any gear out in the trailhead as it is a very busy spot in the Reservation with a lot of foot traffic. You'll get a spot in the trailhead parking lot, so you can easily access your car if you would like to leave gear there. There are portajohns at the trailhead.
