squatchy accessibility

We know that "trail running" looks different for everyone. To help you find the event that best matches your goals, equipment, and comfort level, every single Sassquad race page now includes a dedicated Adaptive Athlete tab to help you plan your day:

Terrain & Equipment Compatibility
  • Surface Breakdown: We specify the percentage of wide carriage roads versus technical singletrack.

  • The "Wheels" Report: We provide honest recommendations for all-terrain wheelchairs, identifying specific obstacles like narrow bridges, rocky descents, or steep climbs where a push-assist may be needed.

  • Ambulatory Intel: Guidance on where trekking poles are recommended and where the footing is most stable.

Facilities & Comfort
  • Restrooms: We specify if the site has permanent accessible buildings or portable toilets (we always provide at least one dedicated ADA-compliant unit at races with portajohns).

  • Sensory Support: Look for the Jackalope Tent icon on select races; this is our dedicated quiet space for anyone needing a sensory break.

Trailside Support & Guides
  • Free Support Guides: Information on how to register your own pacer or guide at no cost.

  • Finding a Guide: A link to our Accommodation Request Form if you need the Sassquad community to help pair you with a local guide.

  • Custom Accommodations: Instructions on how to request delayed starts or specific on-course support at least 3 weeks before the party.
