ADAPTIVE ATHLETES
At Sassquad Trail Running, we welcome athletes of all abilities. We are committed to supporting adaptive athletes so everyone can enjoy the challenge and joy of trail running. Trail running and hiking is for all bodies, all abilities, all runners, and all hikers, and we cannot wait to see you out on the trails. Visit our Accessibility Page to learn about the information we provide for all of our events.
We offer Accommodation Requests for all of our races. Some examples include, but are not limited to, a delayed start, translation of race communications, access to a quiet space during the race, or having a buddy join you before and during the event. Participants who feel unsafe or apprehensive due to current events can request support at the race, and Elder Squatches can request a pacer or guide on the trail. Please complete this form at least three weeks before the race to let us know how we can best support you. Our Accessibility Coordinator will reach out once your requests are received, and we will do our best to accommodate them.
If you're a runner or hiker with a physical, intellectual, and/or neurodevelopmental disability and need a guide to enjoy the trails, check out our Team HippoGriffin program! Runners and hikers who need support will be paired with volunteer guides to train together through group meet-ups on local trails.
